Types of Repairs and Restorations Available
No matter the extent of damage we ensure to do it with our specialized techniques. Listed below are some of the types of repairs and restorations, we do:
Hand Overcast: Has your rug gotten unraveled? Don’t worry. We will get it repaired by inserting an interior hand stitch. The hand stitch secures the line and locks the foundation well. It creates an even fringe that doesn’t look foreign to the rug.
Hand Fringe Reinsertion: We reinsert the fringe warps into the foundation of the rug. By this restoration we replicate the original fringe.
Hand-Sewing of a Pre-woven Fringe: We hand sew your area rugs to stop any further unraveling of the fringes. Hand sewing makes the rug look presentable. You can remove the hand-sewn fringe, whenever required. This allows the restoration of the rug in the future.
Hand and Machine Surging: To bind the edges of the rug, a hand-sewn stitch is usually applied. We use machine stitch for this purpose as well. Both kinds of surging protect the rugs from unraveling. For hand-made rugs a machine stitch is not usually preferred.
Cloth Binding: Cloth binding is generally used to repair the damaged or cut areas of a rug edges. We apply machine-sewn binding using the exact similar cloth. This prevents fraying and makes the rug look new.
Patch: We usually patch a hole with another similar design rug. Then we apply safe dyes to exactly match the color and patterns of the rugs.
Hand Re-weaving: This repair utilizes intensive labor. Using similar wool, silk or cotton is used in a particular rug we re-weave it.
